Farewell to the 2016 Caravan Holiday Season

This year has flown by, hasn’t it? For us it has and now it’s the end of the caravan holiday season. In the space of 6 months, we’ve bought 2 static caravans at Haven’s Hopton Holiday Village, located between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft in Norfolk.

Why? Well, why not? In all seriousness, my two boys absolutely love it here.  Hopton is their ‘happy place’ and I have to admit, it’s mine too. I get to get away from it all and chill out by the seaside with my Kindle when I am not working down here. It’s just a shame all this sea air doesn’t help my insomniac kids to sleep better.

Now the tourist season is over, it’s just owners on site, it’s quiet and has that empty feeling – no shop, no restaurant, no activities on site – everything is closed up for the winter.  In a way, it’s rather nice after a summer of holiday makers having a whale of a time to have the place to ourselves, even if it is weekends only.  It’s a real shame the swimming pool is closed,  I was looking forward to taking the monkeys swimming at the weekends.

Oh well, we will just have to crack on with refurbishing our most recent purchase.

Many other owners have now packed up for the season, said their farewells and wished everyone a Merry Christmas. We’re braving it for a bit longer before we think about winterisation – the beauty of having central heating in the caravan means we can use it even in the coldest months!

It’s been a great season for us.  We’ve had some super guests, met some fantastic people here and thoroughly enjoyed being able to spend time together as a family.  Plus, Hopton Holiday Village has been awarded 5 stars too! Well done to everyone that works so hard to make it such a wonderful place for holidaymakers.

We look forward to an equally wonderful 2017 season, welcoming new and old guests back, and inviting our friends and family up to enjoy everything on offer here at Haven’s Hopton Holiday Village!

good bye to the 2016 caravan holiday season at Haven Hopton Holiday Village
