Well, it has been such an amazing season and it’s flown by so quickly. It only seems like yesterday that I was doing a stock take and organising inventory ready for the crazily busy Easter holidays. Since then, I have seen booking numbers rocket in to the high hundreds and welcomed more and more owners that have decided to rent out their cherished holiday homes to guests via me. Besides one weekend late cancellation and a guest that sadly passed away, we were fully booked all summer!
With almost 50 caravans on the fleet and with some more new ones soon to be listed, I am confident that 2018 will be another amazing year for growth, which will enable Caravan Holidays Hopton to offer even more affordable holidays to guests booking directly. I would like to take on more caravans and see the rental numbers swell further in 2018, so more and more guests and owners can benefit from the service I offer.
Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to all of the owners that have entrusted their bookings to me this year. I hope I have helped you to cover some, if not all of your site fees and there are plans afoot to generate even more enquiries next season so… watch this space! You all have amazing caravans and one thing that has been clear is that the home-from-home experience your caravans offer makes a huge difference to guests. I will be sharing some analytics insights with you all soon on our Facebook group.
Secondly, I thank each and every guest that stayed with Caravan Holidays Hopton this year. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to share the magic of Hopton with you all; so you too can experience what is on offer here for families. One guest loved it so much they decided to buy and I now have fabulous new neighbours. From reading the feedback in our guest books and the 100 independent online reviews left this year, I can see you all had an amazing time and our score of 4.7/5 makes me proud that we are getting things right. I plan to address any points you’ve raised; your feedback is essential to enable me to continually enhance the customer experience. Thirdly, I would like to say thank you to the really hard working team of housekeepers and maintenance staff that have been on hand to prepare and repair the caravans and been available to assist guests. You are all a vital part of the service and I am pleased to see I didn’t lose any of you under the mountains of laundry you had to process this season. I did a few days of cleaning myself this year and wow, I was exhausted – my poor back! I think every owner should spend a day in your shoes to get a feel for just how much you have to do to meet the high expectations of guests.
Lastly, I say thank you to all of my friends and family, fellow owners and other industry buddies that have been a tower of support and have encouraged me to fulfil my vision of being able to offer affordable holidays to guests, whilst assisting owners to cover their running costs. Every post you share or like means a great deal and helps me to spread the word. Being the middle-woman has been thoroughly enjoyable, despite the horrendously long hours, enduring Facebook jail a couple of times and having to deal with some really random requests.
All in all, it has been a great season and one I won’t forget. I have learnt lots, met some fantastic people, lost a lovely vanny neighbour (I miss you) but gained another great one who is now a firm friend, and feel boosted to go forward in to the 2018 season with renewed gusto!
